Richard Moon

Richard Moon graduated with Post-Graduate Diploma Fine Art from the Royal Academy Schools, London in 2005 having achieved First Class BA (Hons) in Painting at Camberwell College of Art, London in 2002. Moon adopts traditional figurative modes of representation to address a world increasingly saturated with digital technology and photographic imagery. Employing slow techniques to explore the historical, mythological and political, Moon’s uncanny work reveals a nostalgia and longing for the ideals and aspirations of bygone eras. Simultaneously, he acknowledges that such idealism might be perceived as hopelessly naïve and outmoded, but nonetheless continues resolutely.
