Sam Jackson

Sam Jackson graduated from the Royal Academy Schools, London with a Post-Graduate Diploma Fine Art in 2007 having completed his BA (Hons) in Fine Art at Middlesex University in 2003. Jackson appropriates classical portraits and renders tumultuous text cascading upon subject and surface, adorning it with impulsive graffiti or tattoo. Instinctive and fragmented narratives cohere with the thoughts, memories, pleas, confessions and exhortations of subject, artist, and audience alike, where a clash of biographical and autobiographical information enables new and unforeseen meanings.
